Subject: Thank you all very much!

First of all, thank you all very much for your generosity! You have no
idea how much even your small donations have made a difference.

On my favorite TV show, Babylon 5, the Minbari had a saying: "Words are inadequate for the burden of my heart." I'm all too cognizant about what that means right now. I just can't really think of anything to say that comes even close to explaining what your kindness has meant to me.

So far, the total donations coming in over PayPal have topped $2,700! That's wonderful, but the love and friendship that inspired them means so much more to me than that dollar amount. Again, there just aren't words.

Most of you I only know online. Some of you I've only barely talked with. Many of you I haven't even met face-to-face. I think without exception, you're either Libertarians (and not just ones local to NC), or skeptics I mostly know through the James Randi group. This is a testament to both groups. Let Libertarians never be called "selfish" or "stingy" again, and let the skeptics be a lesson to the world that you
don't have to be religious to be generous!

I think a few people need to be singled out for recognition: my Libertarian friends Jennifer Schulz and Susan Hogarth, who set up a special blog where people could find out where to donate to my PayPal account, skeptic Luke Lyons for creating a "sticky" thread on the JREF Forum telling people where they can donate, and skeptic Rebecca Watson of skepchick.org for helping those who had trouble donating through PayPal.

If you've read this far, then I assume you'd be interested in knowing
how I'm doing. The physical therapy is going *very* well. I'm doing more with my arm and leg, I'm mostly self-sufficient now (although I'm still in a wheelchair), and I'm hopeful that the doctor will give me the go-ahead to start putting some weight on my leg when I see him again on Tuesday. I'm also hopeful that he'll tell Aleena she can get out of her wheelchair; she's doing so much more than I am. You heal quickly at that age. She's so happy and giggly, I can't help but have my spirits up.
(Just now she told me, "You're the best Dad!")

Well, as I said, words are inadequate, but as usual that didn't stop me
from yammering on. So I'll just leave of with one more, thank you! I
love you all!
